BRIDOR celebrates its 40th anniversary and confirms its acceleration in North America, surrounded by prestigious guests

7 October 2024

Boucherville, October 7, 2024 – Surrounded by several chefs from the Académie Culinaire de France attending the event, Louis Le Duff, President and Founder of Groupe Le Duff, took the opportunity last Saturday during Bridor’s 40th anniversary celebrations to reflect on the journey since its founding in 1984. The event was held at the company’s North American headquarters in Boucherville, a suburb of Montreal.

Prestigious Guests: Bridor Surrounded by Renowned Chefs

Reflecting the brand’s commitment to traditional craftsmanship (respecting production methods and careful selection of ingredients) and culinary creativity at the highest levels, Bridor’s management was joined for the occasion by Jean-François Girardin, President of the Société nationale des Meilleurs Ouvriers de France (MOF); Davy Tissot, MOF and 2021 Bocuse d’Or winner; and Fabrice Prochasson, President of ACF World. Just days before World Bread Day, the presence of Frédéric Lalos, MOF in baking—who has developed exceptional-quality breads with Bridor—was also noteworthy. Jean-Jacques Massé, MOF and ambassador of the Le Duff Culinary Academy, was also in attendance.

Since its beginnings, Bridor has upheld a principle of superior quality as the foundation of its commitment to passing on the best skills and traditions. Fully aware of the importance of training the next generation to be competent, rigorous, and passionate, the company remains constantly engaged with its teams.

The Group is deeply committed to knowledge transfer through its Bridor Campus and plans to open a new culinary academy in Montreal in the coming year.
A winning recipe: “Bridor’s success relies on three key elements,” says Louis Le Duff. “First, we constantly innovate in our products and services by selecting the best ingredients. We adapt to change and anticipate needs, consumer tastes, and trends. The proof is that we are present in the world’s finest restaurants and 4-, 5-, and even 6-star hotels.

Finally, when it comes to product quality—it is non-negotiable.” With a generous North American offering of 220 viennoiserie items and 185 varieties of bread, Bridor’s teams are known for their strict adherence to artisan bakery principles: slow kneading, careful dough handling, gentle laminating, and long fermentation.

Bridor Accelerates in the United States

A clear sign of the brand’s strong momentum in North America: Bridor will need to hire 800 new employees over the next five years, including around 100 at its Boucherville headquarters. In addition, two new production facilities are planned in the southern United States.
